Benjamin Weaver was admitted a freeman of the town of Newport Oct. 7, 1713, and of the colony, May 4, 1714. His name appears in the list of freemen at the organization of the new town of Middletown Aug. 30, 1743. He was a farmer and a Quaker and lived near his father and brothers in the north-west part of Newport, being one of the petitioners, June 13, 1743, for the erection of a separate town.
