- DANIEL WILLIAMS HAZARD, 7 (Joseph Hoxsie, 6; Jonathan J., 5; Jonathan, 4;Thomas, 3; Robert, 2; Thomas, 1), was born February 29, 1812, in Rome,New York; he died June 27, 1888. He always lived on the same farm, a partof which he inherited from his father. The following notice shows theestimation in which he was held by his townsmen: 'No man in this vicinitywas better known or more respected than he, as was attested by the verylarge attendance at his funeral. Mr. Hazard was strictly honest in allhis transactions, and too generous to be hemmed in by creed or party. Hewas a successful farmer for years, and acquired a competence by hisbusiness. A man of cultured intellect and generous heart, Mr. Hazard willbe long remembered for his kindness to all. He was a devoted husband anda most indulgent father.' He married, November 13, 1837, Ann E. Dyre, daughter of Christopher C.Dyre, and granddaughter of Mary Hazard and Colonel Charles Dyre.
