- Nicholas Rideout, born at Maugerville, N.B., about 1797. It seems almostcertain (comment by George H. Hayward) other were other children bornbetween Thomas, b. c1790, and Nicholas, b. c1797, but if there wereGeorge has no record of them. The York County marriage records show thatNicholas Rideout and Hannah Ginson, both of Wakefield, were married 03Nov 1821, by F. Dibblee, in the presence of Thomas Rideout and LewisDibblee. This, of course, would be 'old Wakefield', which then was inthe County of York and included all the lands along both sides of theSaint John River from Woodstock north to about where Bath is nowlocated. Nicholas and Hannah (Ginson) Rideout are shown in both the 1851and 1861 Census records, living in what is now the Parish of Brighton, inCarleton County. They apparently had no children.
