Mercy was a mid-wife and doctress. A descendant,Hon. Charles Tubb, says 'Many times in Connecticut, she treated patientswith smallpox. After the Revolution, she lived with her son Lebbeus atSouthport, New York. There she got it (smallpox) in the natural way, anddied shortly before 1805, aged nearly 100 years.'
