- Darlene LaNette (Mahoney) Houghton had a beautiful voice, an executive secretary for many years. She and Jan bought the River Ranch. In 1982they held a centennial celebration to commemorate the home steading in1882. SUNDANCE TIMES - DECEMBER 2, 1993 Darlene LaNette (Houghton) Mahoney Funeral services for Darlene LaNette Houghton, 53, of Hulett,Wyoming, will be held on Friday, December 3, 1993 at 2:30 p.m. at the OldHigh School gymnasium in Hulett. The Rev. John Alsop, pastor of theAssembly of God Church at Hulett, Wyoming will officiate at the services.Internment will be the Hulett Cemetery at Hulett. A memorial has been established by the family. Mrs. Houghton died at her residence in Hulett early Monday morning,November 29, 1993. Fidler-Roberts Northeastern Wyoming Funeral Chapel is in charge ofarrangements. She was born on September 6, 1940 at Hulett, Wyoming, thedaughter of John Seeley and Virginia Neil (Anger) Mahoney. She grew up atHulett and graduated from Hulett High School in the class of 1958. Shethen attended Graceland College at Lamoni, Iowa, University of Arizona atTucson, Arizona, Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, NorthernArizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona and did Extension course study atHulett from Eastern Wyoming College, Torrington, Wyoming. She was marriedon September 7, 1959 at Hulett to Jan C. Houghton and the family made theirhome in Hulett. She was a member of the Hulett Assembly of God Church, was active inthe Christian Women’s Club and Beaver Creek Homemakers Club. Survivors include her husband Jan Houghton, Hulett; two daughters:Kelly Waugh and Christina Houghton, both of Hulett; three sons: BrianHoughton, Phoenix, Arizona, Joshua Houghton, and Jedidiah Houghton, bothof Hulett; two grandchildren, Tanya Waugh and Shayla Waugh, both of Hulett; her mother, Neil Anger, Belle Fourche, South Dakota; JohnMahoney, Tucson, Arizona,. Also surviving are two brothers; Mike Mahoney,Casper, Wyoming and G. Vonn Mahoney, Tucson, Arizona; four sisters: JoanWilkinson, Billings, Montana, Sherry Walter, Buffalo, Wyoming, Nena Hix, Tucson, Arizona and Marla Karson, Hulett, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lynda in infancy. December 1993
