- Ella Loetta Caswell was one of the original members of the SummerhillHomemakers Club who still (1980) belong to the Club and is apast-president which was first organized in 1934. Ella was one of theorganists for the old Kirkhill Church before it was destroyed by astubble fire in April 1951 that got out of control and completely wipedout the church and all its contents. Among the treasured thingsdestroyed was a very large and beautiful Bible given to the church byAndrew T. Fotheringham, on the fly leaf of which was a scroll done by J.T. M. Anderson who was principal of the Grenfell School, and laterPremier of Saskatchewan, Canada. This account is stated on page 167 in the book -- 'Grit and Growth, TheStory of Grenfell', by Annie I.
