Duringthe latter part of his life he kept a general store at Upper Gagetown,Queens County, N.B. Mr. Henry Estabrooks inherited the homestead of his father Stephen PotterEstabrooks at Swan Creek.

Note*He served during the Spanish American War. He was a cabinetmaker. He and his brother bought a farm at Kalispell, Flathead Co., MT. Later returned to Somerville, MA. Herbert never married and was in the Spanish American War, attained considerable reputation as a cabinet maker. He and his brother, Ernest, bought a farm at Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana. He became sick and returned to Sommerville where he died.

Note*Hezekiah Estabrooks, b. July 18, 1779, and died Aug. 4, 1869. Married(1), in 1803, Emmiline Turney, and (2), Sarah Turney in 1811; (3) in1835, Catherine (Knox) Corey in 1835. On 21 Sept 1811 Hezekiah Estabrooksbought lots 42 to 48 inclusive in the Parish of St. Mary's in the Countyof York on the South East side of the Nashwaak River and part ofPennyauck Island, from John Harris and his wife who were MarylandLoyalists. (York County Record Book D4 page 87). On 19 Sept 1814, he andJohn Mazer, as trustees of the Calvinist Baptist Church, bought a lot ofland from John Coy for a church. This was in the Parish of St. Mary's onthe west side of the Nashwaak River on the main road. (York CountyRecords Records D4 pg. 280). He built a brick house on the homestead which he inherited from his father at Sackville, New Brunswick. On one occasion while on a journey from Sackville to Fredericton to attend a session of the Legislature, the vehicle in which he was traveling broke through the ice on the Saint John River. He was rescued, but an associate traveling with him was drowned.

Note*John Estabrooks, son of Reverend Elijah 'Preacher' Estabrooks III and Mary (Whitmore). m. Abt. 1828 Mary Coy. b. ca. 1809. d. at Canning,Queens Co., N.B. He b. ca. 1791. d. Apr. 29, 1876. Buried in Upper Gagetown Baptist Cemetery. Mary was a sister of Nancy Jane Coy, wife of William Estabrooks of Swan Creek. She was born c 1809. They were children of Edward Coy, Jr. and Jannet 'Jane' A. (Murray). John Estabrooks inherited part of his father's farm. Information taken from 'The Estabrooks of New Brunswick' , by Darryl Bonk at the Provincial Archives, Fredericton, N.B. John's farm was a lot off the farm of his father, Elijah Estabrooks III, the Preacher. John and Mary lived in Canning.

Burial*He was buried in Upper Gagetown Baptist Cemetery, New Brunswick, Canada.1
