"He died when the pilot of Wellington aircraft #W 5589 attempted a forced landing with one engine on fire and crashed at the Strenshall Military Camp, Strenshall, England. Flight Sergeants S. Wityck and W.A. Robertson, and Sergeant J.B. Gayfer were also killed." Osborne was a Flight Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Air Force, #405 City of Vancouver Division (Ducimus).1
