Tuplin collided in mid-air with a Halifax, NP796, piloted by F/O Bernard A. Boyd. The two aircraft were on the last major bombing raid of the Second World War (April 25, 1945) . There were no survivors. Six of the seven bombers lost in that raid on Wangerooge, were involved in mid-air collisions with Bomber Command aircraft.
