After persuasion by his brother Ingham and others, he decided to resume his education at Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown in 1929. He received his second year diploma in the spring of 1931. He then entered Dalhousie medical school in fall of 1931. Later, he transferred his studies to McGill University in Montréal from where he graduated in 1938. Dr. Fred began his medical practice in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1938. A year later he moved to practice at a hospital in St. John's, Newfoundland. In 1941 he moved to western Canada to practice at Weyburn Hospital in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.1 |

His uncle, Dr. John Jardine of Scott, Saskatchewan, was in contact with the doctors supervising and was preparing to journey to Estevan when the fatal news was received.
