| Note | William Edgar Hollinger was the only child born to Minerva Jane (Ennis)and Jacob Hollinger. Minerva died exactly two months after the birth ofEdgar. He was raised by his maternal grandparents - Tom and Fanny Ennis,with the help of Mrs. John Meadows. Edgar was approximately sixteenyears old when he went to live with his father on his farm on the ninthconcession, Grey township. Jacob Hollinger never remarried. Edgarreceived his education in the Brussels public school system. He was acattle buyer for Essex Packers and later scales operator for a number ofyears until his health failed him. In his later years Edgar operated a Shell gas station on the QueenElizabeth Highway. Edgar married Mary Pollard and they raised a familyof one son - Charles Edgar Hollinger, and one daughter - Mildred EmilyMarie Hollinger. |
