| Note | Sarah Jane Long was born at Cranbrook near Brussels, Ontario on 17December, 1881. She was the eldest of a large family born to SusanMargaret (Ennis) and Jacob Long, and from an early age had to help withthe younger members of the family. During her school years she developed a fine voice and sang in the choirsof two different churches three times each Sunday, and her life centeredaround church activities from then on. Sarah married George Campbell on29 June, 1910 and shortly after moved to a homestead at Milestone,Saskatchewan. They had two sons and two daughters. So that the childrencould continue their education, the family moved to Regina in 1928. In 1958, Sarah moved into a suite in downtown Regina across from herchurch and she remained very active until forced into hospital with abroken hip at the age of 82. She passed away quietly at the Regina Pioneer Village Nursing Home on 05January, 1970, at the age of 88 years. |

| Note | William Ennis Long was born in Brussels, Ontario on the 8th of October,1888, the fourth chid born to Susan Margaret (Ennis) and Jacob Long. Asa young man, William worked in a general store in Brussels, Ontario.Within a few tears, he went west as far as Macrorie, Sak., a new town, tostart a general store there, returning briefly in three years to marryNorma Rae Lowick in Sutton, Ontario in January, 1913. Norma Rae Lowick was born in Brussels, Ontario. Her family moved toLiverton, Ontario and then to Fordwich, Ontario and finally to Sutton,Ontario. William and Norma came west to Macrorie to live, where Dorothy Cora Longwas born on the 12th of December, 1913. In 1917 they came further west after selling the business in Macrorie toVancouver, British Columbia, Canada. William Ralph Long was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on the 10th ofJanuary, 1917. In Vancouver, William Ennis Long was employed in several Men's Wear stores and in 1933with a partner, established their own business in Men's Wear, called Deemand Long. After a brief illness, William died in 1940. After his death,Norma Long sold the family home and bought a Revenue Home. This shesuccessfully carried on until she retired to an apartment, where she hasbeen living in good health for the past nine years (1979). |
