DeathMagnus Nilson Froid died on 16 February 1946 in Belle Fourche, Butte County, South Dakota, USAG. FROID FUNERAL RITES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON Funeral services for M. N. Froid, 81 years of age, who passed away at his home in Sundance, Wyoming, were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, the Rev. Richard Bunge officiating. Internment in Pineslope cemetery. Magnus Nilson Froid was born 1 May 1866 in Billinge, Sweden. He came to this country in 1909 and settled in Crook County, Wyoming, where he had lived ever since except for six years spent in Spearfish at the home of his daughter, Nancy (Froid) Dewey Sipe. Mr. Froid received his education and training in his native country where he also served in the Cavalry in the Swedish Army for an enlistment period of seven years. He was married in 7 December 1887, to Hilma Pederson. Nine children were born to this union. Two preceded him in his death. He was employed by a mining company while in Sweden for a number of years. After coming to this section he established his home near Aladdin, Wyoming on a ranch, living there until 1939 when he retired from active labor, and in 1941 went to his daughter's home in Spearfish.Mrs. Froid passed away in 25 May, 1931. Surviving are seven children; Mrs. Oscar Nilson and Franz Froid of Seattle, Washington; Eric Froid, Rapid City; Mrs. Lyle Weaver, and Mrs.Nels Pearson, Aladdin, Wyoming; Mrs. Dewey Sipe, Spearfish; Ernest Froid,address unknown. Thirteen grand children and three great grandchildren.One brother, Alfred Nelson, Alva, Wyoming. This was taken from a copy of an obituary listed in the Belle Fourche News Paper dated 1946 and is his scrapbook.

FROID PASSED AWAY AT RANCH NEARALADDIN Funeral service was held at the Methodist Church in Belle FourcheThursday afternoon of this week for Mrs. M. N. Froid, who passed away atthe Froid ranch near Aladdin, Wyoming, Monday of this week. Rev. J. S.Kerr preached the sermon, and burial was at Pineslope Cemetery. Hilma Netterman Pederson was born 18 December 1864, at Billinge(Billingee), Sweden, where she grew to womanhood. On 7 December 1887, shewas united in marriage to M. N. Froid. They remained in Sweden until1910, when they brought their family to America, settling on a ranch nearAladdin. Mrs. Froid was in poor health for several years prior to herdeath, and for the past two years has failed steadily. She was a kind andloving wife and mother, and even in her ill health the welfare of herfamily was always uppermost in her mind. A faithful member of theApostolic Lutheran Church since childhood, Mrs. Froid had lived a lifethat left her prepared when the final summons came. She is survived by her husband, M. N. Froid, and eight children, foursons, Nels Leonard of New York, Ernest F. of Chaldron, Nebraska, Franz O.of Seattle, Washington, Eric G. of Aladdin, Wyoming; four daughters, Mrs.Nels O. Pearson, of Aladdin, Mrs. Oscar Nilson of Seattle, Washington,Mrs. Dewey Sipe and Miss Famie Froid of Aladdin. One child died ininfancy. She is also survived by a sister in Germany and a brother inSweden, as well as nine grand-children. She die at 67 years. This was the obituary in the Belle Fourche Newspapers, May 25, 1931.
