Note	Albert's nickname was 'A.J'. He served in World War I with the 24th Battalion of the Victoria Rifles in France, and was discharged in June 1919 at Fredericton. He was sports minded and loved salmon fishing on the Nashwaak River near Fredericton and in the Miramichi River near Blissfield, New Brunswick. When his grandchildren, Richard & Ron were small, they had a 'Flying Saucer' (snow sled). A.J. thought he would show them just how to get from the top to the bottom of the hill in a hurry. He forgot that there was a rock midway down and it was barely covered with snow. He stood on the 'Flying Saucer' and pushed off. He was doing fine and had even noticed his audience looking out the window at him. He hit the rock, the'Flying Saucer' took off in the air and A.J. flew too. Arms and legs were going around like a windmill, but gravity caught up with him and he landed! He never complained of aches and pains, but he did tell the boys never to follow Grampie's example.

Note	When Edison was around 12 years old, he was thought to have tuberculosis and was ordered to rest in bed for a year. During that time he learned to play the ukulele, banjo and later, played the drums. In his late teens, he played the banjo in a band with Jim Edwards at the Bear Island Hall. He was a great dancer, and loved music and farming. At 84 he still helped with the haying.
