1871 census, household of Albert and Sheloah (Durgan) Palmer. Their first child, Minnie Reud, died an infant two years previously. Sheloah's name was entered in the census return was Cheloe (oral history has it that she was pronounced 'Sheloy'. His occupation was entered as "tradesman", and their religion was Free Christian Baptist.
