It was market day, and the men were in town while the women were cooking the last meal in the old house. The attached barn caught fire, burning both the old and new houses to the ground. Nothing was saved. Neighbours soon helped with the building of a new house on the same property. Wallace Biggs, son of Joseph, inherited the house. He died soon after he retired in 1984. The property has since been sold outside of the Biggs family.1 |
