NoteISRAEL5 GORTON, JR. (Israel4 Othniel3 John2 Sam'l1) lived on the Ore Bed Four Corners farm, where he died shortly prior to April 10, 1807. He married Anne Searle, daughter of Thomas and Penelope Searle. Captain Israel Gorton was appointed Commander of the six additional companies ordered raised by Rhode Island, War of the Revolution; was administrator of his father's, Israel, estate, a member of Town Council, and was Deputy (same as present State Senator) from Cranston to the Legislature. He had twelve children, a number of whose names and records we are unable to obtain.
