Note	Data from Helen Romano's notes: 'Roland Dyer was born and raised on the family farm. As a young man he worked in the logging camps and enlisted in the Spanish American war with the 14th Minn. Volunteers. He was discharged at the end of the war and worked for the Telephone Company.After his marriage he homesteaded land in Northwestern South Dakota, and built a sod shack. Two years of drought ended his farming and he worked for a time in Lemon, SD, then returned to Minn. and worked for the Tri-State Telephone Company. In 1912 his safety belt broke and he fell from the top of a telephone pole and was badly injured. The accident happened at Inver Grove and he was transported in a horse drawn ambulance to Ancker Hospital in St. Paul. He fell seventeen days before the compensation law was passed. Eleven years later the Telephone Company gave him $700 for his injuries but did not give him lifetime work as verbally promised. He worked as a school custodian until he retired in1934 and moved to Deer River and lived in a log cabin.' [JWP].

Dyer) will shows everything being left to'Linnie', and One dollar each to Sigel,Roland,Glorannah and Abbie Jane.Family history has it that Roxie wanted Linnie to have the family farm toraise her family because Linnie's husband (George Thomas Atkins) had runoff and left her with three children to raise. He apparently didn't run far as he reportedly stayed in the Elk River -Cambridge area and started a hotel for working men. He stayed in contactwith Sigel G. Dyer, but never contacted his wife or children. [JWP].

Dyer's will made on Aug 13th, 1919 but he was dead bythen, if all data is correct. Buried in Bethel Cemetery, He is buried atBethel alongside Malinda, Stephen S., and Roxie M.
