Obituary: "The news was received on Thursday evening of the death of Major Wright at the age of 77 years, which occurred at Maplethorpe, Bedeque, at five o’clock on that day. Mr. Wright’s health has not been very good since the death of his wife some year and a half ago, but he was not seriously ill until Monday night, since which time he grew rapidly worse until death released him from his suffering. Mr. Wright was one of the best known and most highly esteemed gentlemen in the province and his death removed an old landmark of Prince County. He commenced business in Bedeque over forty years ago. Some years ago he handed the business over to his son Richmond who closed it out about a year ago.

He leaves one son, Richmond, who recently removed to Vancouver and whose return is daily expected, and one daughter, Miss Millicent, at home. His brothers are Henry E., Summerside; J. Morris, Vancouver; Chas., Bedeque; Edward, New Annan. Mrs. Dr. Beer, Charlottetown, and Mrs. F. W. Strong are sisters of deceased. The funeral will probably take place on Sunday as no arrangements have yet been made pending the arrival of his son from Vancouver."8
