Name	John Collier Underhay was also known as JC Underhay.
Biographical Note	He attended school in Eglington. He studied under the famed Island mathematician, Robert B. Irving. During his surveying career he surveyed the greater part of Kings County. At 24 he was appointed Justice of the Peace. In 1870 he was elected Grand Chief of the Independent Order of Good Templars. He was a leader in the Island temperance movement. He was first elected as MLA in 1878, serving three consecutive terms of office. His memorial stone is in Bay Fortune Cemetery.
