Born in Marshfield on October 5, 1903 the only son of the late Alexander Henry and Mary Ann (Irving) Boswall, he was the youngest of a family of four and was predeceased by his sisters Annie (Fred) MacRae, Lettie (Orris) Gill, and Erna Boswall. On March 26, 1930 he married Pearle Jay and together they raised a family of five children, Roy (Elizabeth), Irving (Margaret), Keir (Mary, predeceased), Beth (Winston) Stewart, and Stella. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. He and Pearle were married for 67 years at the time of her death on August 30, 1997. His life long occupation was mixed farming where among other livestock he took pride in raising Shorthorn cattle, Oxford Down Sheep, poultry and waterfowl which he exhibited for many years at the Provincial Exhibition, local fairs and fairs throughout the Maritimes. He received special recognition on two occasions from the PEI Provincial Exhibition for his long time participation as a continuous exhibitor from the age of seven until his passing. Over the years, exhibitions were an annual highlight for him and the care of his livestock was ever present on his mind. He served as a president of the P.E.I. Shorthorn Association. In later years he had a family heirloom fiddle restored and derived much enjoyment in learning to play this instrument and in attending practice sessions of the Queens County Fiddlers. Possessing a pleasant spirit he was a well loved father and grandfather and an abiding constant in the lives ofhis family. His funeral was held from the Belvedere Funeral Home on December 5, 2001 with service being conducted by Rev. Tom and Rev. Paula Hamilton, Ministers St. Colomba Presbyterian Church. He was laid to rest in the family plot in Marshfield Community Cemetery.
