Appleby relict of the late Richard A. Lazier, died yesterday. Mrs. Lazier, who was born July 24, 1805, in the Township of Sophiasburg, Prince Edward Count, was in her 98th year. She was a daughter of Thomas B. Appleby, who was a well-known resident of that county. She was married in 1825 and survived her husband more than 30 years. Mrs. Lazier was a devout member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, was noted for her works of benevolence and charity, and had lived in the reign of five British Monarchs. She leaves a family of five sons and one daughter, namely Thomas A. Lazier, senior Judge of the County of Hastings; Col. Samuel S. Lazier, Master in Chancery; Nicholas A. Lazier, Richard L. Lazier, Stephen A. Lazier and Mrs. Robt. Elliott of Chicago. Twenty-six grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren survive her."¹
