There was a Register of Corrected Entries, providing more details about the cause and location of his death. This second report was recorded 23rd June 1880 at New Galloway. His son William was the informant, and was present when he died. William's residence was entered as Pilrig Nursery, Edinburgh. His occupation was entered as woodcutter. It was noted that he was a widower of Agnes Anderson.¹
