Her mother Lydia (Eliza) lived with her there for a while. We have snapshots of the two of them at the beach in CA. She ended up in Cheyenne, WY. Earl & family stopped to visit her there on a trip to Texas, perhaps 1947. She died in Cheyenne of cancer. She is shown as deceased in the obit of her sister Alta, 1962. We have a photo of Bessie as a younger woman, perhaps late 30's?. Also photo taken at the beach in California with her mother Lydia. Millie and family stopped to see her on one of their trips to California and Millie made the following comment in her journal: 'Seen Bess, nice looking old lady. Ignorant, as always.2' |
