He had lived at the home of his son here for nine years. Mr. Mead is survived by four sons L.B. Mead, Long Beach, California, L.L. Mead, Seattle, Washington, G.E. Mead, Wellsville, N.Y. and O.W. Mead, Bradford; four daughters Mrs. Martha Burdlek, Long Beach, California, Mrs. Leona Slocum, Andover, N.Y., Mrs. Altha Hoaglund, Springwater, N.Y. and Mrs. Dickenson, Bradford, Pa. Mr. Mead was a memberof the Albany Methodist Church. Having been born on October 15, 1843. He had lived at the home of his son here for nine years. Mr. Mead is survived by four sons L.B. Mead, Long Beach, California, L.L. Mead, Seattle, Washington, G.E. Mead, Wellsville, N.Y. and O.W. Mead, Bradford; four daughters Mrs. Martha Burdlek, Long Beach, California, Mrs. Leona Slocum, Andover, N.Y., Mrs. Altha Hoaglund, Springwater, N.Y. and Mrs. Dickenson, Bradford, Pa. Mr. Mead was a memberof the Albany Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at the home, no. 47 Euclid Avenue at ___ o'clock and will be taken to Andover N.Y. to be buried. ================================================ George W. Mead Co. H, 86th NYSV George Washington Mead enlisted at the age of 19 at Greenwood, N.Y. to serve for 3 years. He mustered in as a private in Company H on October 24, 1861. He was wounded in action on July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg, Pa. He transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps on Feb. 15, 1864. from The Adjutant General's Report.
