Since Mrs. Lamb was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Ennis it was a happy reunion for them, and there was plenty of room toaccommodate the family in the pioneer home which housed Mr. and Mrs.Ennis and six young folks. There was always room for more in a prairiehome, regardless of its size. Mr. Lamb homesteaded S.E 24-16-8, which land is now (1980) the propertyof Emil Mair. The only good drinking water was from the spring inthe Pipestone, and everyone drew water for miles around. At the Lake oneyear, the water got so low that it was poisonous, and many foxes andwolves died from drinking it. This account is found on pages 33 and 34 in the book, 'Grit and Growth, the story of Grenfell', by Annie I. Yule, 1980 edition - privatelypublished by the Grenfell Historical Committee, 1980.
