Note*Jesse Gillies, Aug. 6, 1753-Oct. 23, 1835, was a Loyalist. He and his sister, Leah, came up with the Loyalists, but the rest of the family were revolutionists and remained in the States. Leah Gillies married a Mr.Harding of St. John and was mother of Thomas Harding, M.P.P. for the cityof Saint John, also George and William Harding. Jesse Gillies married Elizabeth Sherwood, 1767-1847, of Loyalist descent, whose first husband was Weede Fowler (1760-1791) by whom she had four children: (1) Mary, born June 15, 1785, married William Wetmore 1802. (2) Sarah, born Mar. 24, 1787, married Isaac Bonnell 1802 (3) Ammon, born Jan. 25, 1789, married Mary Taylor. (4) Elizabeth, born Dec. 24, 1790, married Capt. John David. The children of Jesse Gillies and Elizabeth Sherwood were: (1) Lydia Gillies, born Oct. 1793, died 1829, married J. Davis. (3) Leah Gillies, born Oct. 23, 1797, died Jan. 4, 1892, married F.
