Birth*George Biggs was born in 1823 in Wellington Parish, Kent County, New Brunswick.1
Marriage*He married Mary Ann Wallace, daughter of John W. Wallace and Sarah Stapley, on 29 October 1854, in Bouctouche, Kent County, New Brunswick. The officiating clergyman was D. McPhail, Baptist minister. Witnesses were William Biggs and Joseph Biggs. They had nine children, two of whom died as babies.1
Death*George Biggs died in 1900, in McKees Mills, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada.1
Burial*He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, McKees Mills, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada.1
Biographical Note* When George died he left the family farm to his fourth son, Joseph. About the year 1920 Joseph built a second house beside the old house. It was market day, and the men were in town while the women were cooking the last meal in the old house. The attached barn caught fire, burning both the old and new houses to the ground. Nothing was saved. Neighbours soon helped with the building of a new house on the same property. Wallace Biggs, son of Joseph, inherited the house. He died soon after he retired in 1984. The property has since been sold outside of the Biggs family.1
